![]() Huette is a female yellow lab raised by the Altimari family. She was recalled for her formal training in October 2002 and considered as a breeder candidate.
While undergoing her thorough medical testing it was discovered that she had allergies. Neil Altimari adopted Huette from GDB in March 2003.
Since then, Huette has started a new career. Neil and Huette spent two years training and are now a certified Search and Rescue Dog team for the state of California with the California Rescue Dog Association.
Huette is trained in "Air Scent" and will find any human scent in the area without the need of a scent source item from the missing person. These type of dogs are typically used in wilderness searches, but can also be used in urban environments. Huette is also certified in large area cadaver (human remains) search.
Neil and Huette are on call 24/7/365 for any search and rescue operations in California where search dogs are requested. Huette is absolutely loving her new career.
